«GogolFEST» in Each House

Creation and distribution of the regular newspaper of the international art-festival «GogolFEST 2008» (May, 6-25th 2008, Kyiv, Ukraine).

The purpose of the project:
Promotion initiatives that link an artistic dimension to a form of social emancipation and increasing the role of art-festival in a contemporary society.

Context:
UNESCO’S proclamation of the year 2009 as «Gogol’s Year» underscores the international recognition of the genius writer and playwright who in his stature and work unified two great Slavic cultures and revealed this synthesis to the world.
The Second Festival «GogolFEST 2008» in Kyiv as Gogol’s idea that this city is a natural platform for simultaneous coexistence of Western and Eastern Ukraine, Europe and Russia, various styles and forms of space.
«GogolFEST 2008» is the festival of «festivals» which include: musical concerts, theatrical performances, retrospective displays of films, the art-exhibition and performances, a book exhibition, literary festival, etc. Participants of festival are creative individuals and groups from different cities of Ukraine, and also from Russia, Germany, Romania, Hungary etc.

The newspaper of festival is the way of promotion initiatives that link an artistic dimension to a form of social emancipation and increasing the role of art-festival in a contemporary society.

The newspapers will extend free of charge:

• Among participants and visitors of the festival
• In streets of Kyiv
• At Universities
